A variety of vehicles cruised the parking lot at Capitol Coney Island to buy 50-cent hot dogs, listen to music and help celebrate the restaurant’s 50th year.

FLINT TWP. — Capitol Coney Island, 4021 Van Slyke Road, Flint, celebrated its 50-year Anniversary on Wednesday, July 20.

Owners Nick and Anastasia Pirkovic hosted a special event to mark the occasion. That included serving coneys for the throwback price of only 50 cents from 1-5 p.m. Not only that, the restaurant hosted other activities including live music out in the parking lot by the Rhythm Knights, a car cruise, various food specials, and more,

“We are happy to continue serving the people within the Flint community,” said Nick Pirkovic. “Our focus on exceptional customer service has helped us build a strong reputation within our community. This is our way of saying “thank you,” to our customers, the community, and the city of Flint for supporting us over the years. Without our strong local support, none of this would be possible.”
