Cardinal rules for career success

FLINT TWP. — Forget what you were taught in kindergarten about being polite and learn to push your way up to the front of the line when it comes to planning for the future.

Being assertive was one of the many career strategies shared with a group of juniors from Carman-Ainsworth High School during a field trip on March 27 to Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, home of the Cardinals, according to a press release.

The group started the day with advice on choosing the right college followed by a campus tour. They also were treated to lunch

The visiting students are in Kat Lage’s and Carrie Mattern’s English classes at CAHS.

“It was a wonderful opportunity and many of our students; eyes were opened to possibilities they had not thought of yet in their future planning,’’ the press release stated. — Rhonda Sanders
