Carman-Ainsworth announces Kings, Queens candidates for 2021 Homecoming

FLINT TWP. — Kings and Queens Senior Courts have been announced for the 2021 Carman-Ainsworth High School Homecoming on Oct. 15. Kings and Queens will be crowned during halftime of tomorrow’s Carman- Ainsworth varsity football game. Homecoming festivities will kick off with a “Sounds of Motown” themed Homecoming Parade at 4:30 p.m.

Queens:

Ashanti Baxter: Ashanti is being escorted by her mother Larenda Thompson. Ashanti is a four-year member of the varsity track team, a four-year member of the Varsity Cheer Squad, a member of the Powderpuff Team and a Link Leader. Currently carrying a 3.9 GPA, Ashanti would like to attend a four-year university after graduation to become a pediatric or trauma surgeon.

Kendall Brown: Kendall is being escorted by her parents, Arnold and Kimberly Brown. Kendall is the National Honor Society E-Board President, a representative on Student Council, the varsity volleyball team manager, a member of the varsity softball team, a member of the Symphony Band and a Link Leader. After graduation, Kendall would like to attend Texas Tech University to become a Software Engineer.

Kevonna Brown: Kevonna is being escorted by her father Kevin Brown. Kevonna is on the Varsity Cheerleading Squad and is a member of the Powderpuff team. After graduation, Kevonna would like to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) and become a Cosmetic Dermatologist or Psychiatrist.

Ashlyn Buck: Ashlyn is being escorted by her parents Christopher and Gretchen Buck. Ashlyn is a three-year member of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad, a member of the National Honor Society, a Link Leader and a dual enrolled student at the University of Michigan-Flint. After graduation, Ashlyn would like to attend a four-year university and become a surgeon.

Alaysia Gatewood: Alaysia is being escorted by her mother Unika Odom. Alaysia is captain of the varsity tennis team, a member of the Varsity Cheer Squad, a member of the National Honor Society and a Link Leader. After graduation, Alaysia plans to attend a four-year university and become a psychologist.

Kings:

Kameron Motley: Kameron is being escorted by his mother Nina Simon and in spirit by his father, the late Samuel Motley. Kameron is a Student Council Representative, a National Honor Society member, a Link-Leader, a Blueberry Ambassador and a dual-enrolled UM-Flint student. After graduation, Kameron would like to attend Morehouse College.

Devin Penton: Devin being escorted by his sister Aysia Golden. Devin’s hobbies include gymnastics and making music. He is also a member of the track and baseball team. Devin would like to attend Central Michigan University or the University of Michigan to become a movie director.

Kam Trannon: Kam is being escorted by his parents Demarko and Deveena James. Kam is on the varsity football team, runs track, is a member of the Yearbook staff and is a Link Leader. After graduation, Kam plans to attend a four-year university where he wants to continue playing football and major in Communication and Sports Medicine with the hope of one day making it to the NFL.
