Carman-Ainsworth swim falls to Lapeer

FLINT – The Carman-Ainsworth boys’ swim team lost to Lapeer 129- 51 and Flint Powers Catholic 128-41 last Tuesday in a double dual at Flint Powers. Powers also beat Lapeer 103- 80.

In the 200 medley relay, Carman- Ainsworth was fourth with Nathan Ratynski, Katie Speaks, Cameron Koegel and Carson Koegel touching the wall in 2:09.87. Carson Koegel then took third in the 200 free in 2:10.19. Connor Heaton was fifth in the 50 free in 28.57.

Carman-Ainsworth and Flint had no divers, so Lapeer swept that category earning 13 points.

Carson Koegel took second in the 100 free in 55.78 and Natalie Cook was third in the 500 free in 5:58.79. Ratynski was fifth in the 100 backstroke in 1:18.48 and Connor Heaton, Hannah Thurston, Aaron Cardette and Cook were fourth in the 400 free relay in 4:45.50. — L.P.


At Northern Lanes last Wednesday, the Cavalier boys topped Lapeer, 23-7, while the girls fell to the Lightning, 18-12. Individual scores were not made available.

Carman-Ainsworth was at Northern Lanes yesterday after deadline and is at Alert Lanes today. – B.P.
