Carr, Chiefs fall to Raiders in overtime

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— Carman-Ainsworth graduate Brandon Carr and his Kansas City Chiefs are currently 6-9 overall, which has them sitting in last place in the four-team American Football Conference-West, behind the 8-7 Denver Broncos, 8-7 Oakland Raiders, and the 7-8 San Diego Chargers.

The Chiefs looked as if they might keep themselves in the divisional race after knocking off the previously unbeaten Green Bay Packers last week.

The Chiefs would not be as fortunate this past week, as they hosted the division rival Oakland Raiders. Although they pushed the game to overtime, Kansas City could not hold on, falling to the Raiders, 16-13.

Through 15 games, Carr has started every game, amassing 37 solo tackles, with six assisted tackles. He also has 13 pass deflections and three interceptions, which he returned for a combined 16 yards. The Chiefs’ season will come to a close on Sunday, as they travel to Denver to take on the Broncos in the finale. — B.P.
