FLINT – The Carman-Ainsworth boys’ basketball team extended its winning streak to five games on Tuesday, defeating Saginaw Arthur Hill 76-51. No stats or details were reported in time to meet press deadlines.

Last Friday, the Cavaliers beat Mt. Pleasant 54-37. Both teams came out of the gate on fire with Carman-Ainsworth taking a 28-25 lead after the first quarter. The pace skidded to a halt before halftime, as the Cavs outscored Mt. Pleasant 3-0 for the entire second quarter. Carman-Ainsworth then outscored Mt. Pleasant 11-7 in the third quarter and 12-5 in the fourth quarter.

Ja’kavien Lewis and O’Mari Duncan led Carman-Ainsworth, scoring 16 points each. Lewis also added two assists and a rebound, and Duncan had an assist and a steal. Chris Ballard contributed eight points and three rebounds. Michael Fletcher also added six points and two blocks.

Last Thursday, the Cavaliers held off Davison 59-55. The Cardinals took a 16-11 lead after the first quarter and kept the Cavs at an arm’s length for the rest of the half, taking a 32-27 lead into the break. Carman- Ainsworth then outscored Davison 15-12 in the third and 17-11 in the fourth to secure the victory.

Duncan led all scorers with 24 points and also had one steal. Lewis added 13 points, two assists and two steals. Jayden Nunn contributed seven points, three steals and three assists. Michael Fletcher had five points, four rebounds, three blocks, a steal and an assist. Chris Ballard added five points, three rebounds and three blocks. Dustin Fletcher also contributed four points and a steal.

Carman Ainsworth, 15-2 overall and 11-0 in conference play, host Midland tomorrow at 7 p.m.
