Cavaliers’ boys’ swim team ninth at County Meet

FENTON – The Carman-Ainsworth boys’ swim and dive team finished ninth with a 52 at the Genesee County Meet at Fenton last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The diving preliminaries were on Thursday, the swim prelims were on Friday and only the top 16 in each event moved on to Saturday’s finals. Fenton was first with a 526, Grand Blanc second with a 437 and Flint Powers Catholic third with 252.

Davison came in fourth with 240, Swartz Creek/Flushing was fifth with 194, Corunna sixth with 168 and Holly seventh with 141. Lapeer placed eighth with 65, Ortonville Brandon 10th with 44 and Flint Kearsley/Lake Fenton 11th with 42.

The 200 free relay team of Nathan Ratynski, Jack Roy, Landon Matusik and Cameron Koegel dropped five seconds finishing in 1:46.98 to place seventh. The 200-medley relay team placed ninth, as Ratynski, Zion Clingman, Roy and Koegel finished in 2:05.70.

Ratynski finished in 10th in the 50 free in 24.73. while also taking 15th in the 100 backstroke in 1:09.01.

The Cavaliers are at Ortonville Brandon today. – B.P.
