Carman-Ainsworth’s Arianna Vantine makes the dive for a save.

Melody Bamford was the only Cavalier to find the back of the net last Friday as the Carman-Ainsworth girls’ soccer team hit the road for a 7-1 loss to Saginaw Valley Lutheran.

“A much better effort for the team despite the score,” said coach Jessyca Mathews. “Many of the goals were done by our lack of concentration and poor touch on the ball and we accept that we put ourselves in a bad position. There was much improvement communication wise and with having the right flow to the game.

“The passing was the best of the year so far and the eight shots on goal were majority quality chances. With hard work and focus and being dedicated to ourselves in being a unit, things will improve. I am enjoying my time with these ladies because they are learning to sudy the game of soccer and show that a good student applies what they learn.” – B.P.
