Cavaliers fourth, fifth at SVL-South meet

MT. MORRIS – It was a fourth-place finish for the boys’ cross country team with a 105 and fifth for the girls with 146 when Carman-Ainsworth competed at the Saginaw Valley League-South Jamboree at the Cummings Center in Mt. Morris on Tuesday.

For the boys, Jack Carter was fourth in 17:30.44, Kielin Thompson took 11th in 18:27.62 and Jack Roy 26th in 19:47.87. Dalero McNeal finished 48th in 20:55.99, Alex Wickham took 60th in 22:47.80 and Ian Wickham 65th in 23:27.89. Vincent Cook placed 69th in 24:13.03 and Zion Clingman was 75th in 25:56.39.

The girls were led by Ayianna Massey in 29th in 25:28.48, Bianca Bowers was 33rd in 26:28.68 and Priscilla Bradford-Walker 44th in 28:46.12. Rachel Allen came in 53rd in 30:52.31, Emma Thorpe was 63rd in 37:21.85 and C Coleman-Ervine 64th in 37:44.25. Hannah Kirby placed 66th in 39:35.62, Arie Lewis 67th in 40:11.99 and in 71st was Leah Allen in 49:30.08.

The boys were sixth with 151 and the girls seventh with 170 during Saturday’s Genesee Invitational at the Cummings center in Mt. Morris.

Carter paced the boys in second in 16:35.91, Thompson placed third in 17:38.08 and Roy 14th in 18:41.05.

Alex Wickham took 28th in 20:16.73, McNeal was 29th in 20:23.76 and Ian Wickham 33rd in 22:11.10. In 34th in 23:31.88 was Cook and Clingman 37th in 26:16.47. Tamaer Al-Harastani took 38th in 27:33.17 and Nuruddin Kamal 39th in 27:54.62.

Amassey led the girls, placing eighth in 23:46.61. Bradford-Walker finished in 17th in 24:52.36, Bowers was 22nd in 26:45.24 and Rachel Allen 24th in 31:02.08. Kirby came in 25th in 31:58.73, Coleman-Ervine 26th in 33:10.52 and Thorpe 27th in 36:40.11. Leah Allen laced 28th in 45:19.47. – B.P.
