Cavaliers locked in tough baseball district

SAGINAW – The Flushing baseball team (22-7 overall, 11-3 Flint Metro League) is one of the tougher teams in the area and will be no slouch heading into next week’s districts. The district also includes Carman- Ainsworth (record not available), Swartz Creek (6-6 Metro League), Saginaw Arthur Hill (record not available) and host Saginaw Heritage (17-7). None of the teams are state rankings.

Carman-Ainsworth opens the postseason on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. on the road against Flushing. The winner will move on to Saturday’s district semifinal at 10 a.m. That will be followed by Arthur Hill against Heritage at 12 p.m. and then the district title game will be held at 2 p.m. All of Saturday’s games will take place at Heritage. — B.P./J.O.
