In a Saginaw Valley League-South battle on Tuesday, the Carman- Ainsworth girls’ tennis team suffered a 6-2 loss to longtime rival Flint Powers Catholic. J’lynn Corder knocked off Madison Macksood at No. 1 Singles, 6-1, 6-4, while Cionna Orr fell at No. 2 Singles to Grace Trecha, 0-6, 1-6. At No. 3 Singles, Rachel Alexander was defeated by Lauren Neumann, 4- 6, 2-6, and Ashleigh King dropped the No. 4 Singles match to Kelly Forystek, 4-6, 0-6.

At No. 1 Doubles, Breanna Hudson/Hunter McFadden fell to Mattie Milne/Hanna Rahman, 5-7, 6- 4, 3-6, followed by Sara Hyde/Whitney Reynolds picking up the win at No. 2 Doubles over Sophie Charboneau/Andrea Dasky, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6). Christina Berry/Kayla Davis were beaten by Kat Cory/Heidi Haas at No. 3 Doubles, 1-6, 0-6, and Taylor McFadden/Ashley Whidbe lost to Monica Kattoula/Danielle Murphy, 0-6, 6-7 (5-7).

The Lady Cavaliers got back to the court on Monday, hosting Lapeer East and knocked off the visiting Eagles, 5- 3. Corder got the win at No. 1 Singles over Alexandra Hall, 6-4, 6-3, while Orr fell to Mary Morrison at No. 2 Singles, 1-6, 2-6. At No. 3 Singles, Alexander was defeated, 4-6, 1-6, by Annette Williams and King dropped the No. 4 Singles match to Megan Donovan, 4-6, 1-6.

At No. 1 Doubles, Hudson/McFadden took down Aubrey Bayer/Sarah Pontbriand, 6-4, 6-1, while Hyde/Reynolds topped Allison Blomer/Victoria Marshall at No. 2 Singles, 6-2, 6-1. Davis/Tenisha Howard picked up the win at No. 3 Doubles, 6-2, 6-4, over Emily Neumeyer/Nicole Whiter and McFadden/Whidbee wrapped up the day with a win at No. 4 Doubles over Allison Johnson/Lisa Skylis, 6-0, 6-1.

The Cavaliers are back in action today, traveling to Davison for SVLSouth action.
