UTICA — The Carman-Ainsworth bowling team traveled to Utica on Sunday for Utica Eisenhower’s annual doubles tournament. The boys were able to win the whole thing, as Parker Zellar and Jordan Nunn were victorious for the boys. Zellar won the Dane doubles tournament just a year ago.
As for the Lady Cavaliers, the combination of Kenzey Lord and Quinisha Burnett placed second overall. There were three different combinations for the Cavs that qualified for the first cut, but fell in the opening round, including Dequincy Adams/Brandon Williams, Bernardette Gruber/Yakira Hughes and Kassidy Lord/Shamonica Simon.
The Cavaliers will now await next week’s post season, which takes place on Feb. 22-23. For Carman- Ainsworth, both the boys and girls will be a part of regional No. 2-1 at Royal Scot Lanes, hosted by Grand Ledge. Other teams competing include Battle Creek Central, Battle Creek Lakeview, Bay City Central, Davison, Grand Blanc, Holt, Jackson, Kalamazoo Central, Kalamazoo Loy Norrix, Lansing Everett, Portage Central, Portage Northern and Saginaw Heritage.
