FLINT TWP — The Carman- Ainsworth girls’ bowling team took to Colonial Lanes in Flushing on Saturday and dominated Saginaw Valley League foe Mt. Pleasant, 28.5- 1.5. Shamonica Simon rolled games of 235 and 192, while Quinisha Burnett bowled a 193. Bernardette Gruber was able to work her way to a 202.
“On Sunday, we went to Battle Creek M66 Lanes for a tournament,” said girls’ coach Gordon Kaufman. “We qualified first after 12 BAKER games, but in the first round, we lost 2-0 BAKER games to Brighton. The boys’ team qualified fourth and finished in second place. They ended up losing in the championship game to Brighton.”
The Lady Cavs are now 4-0 and are tied for first in the SVL with Davison and Bay City Central. Carman- Ainsworth returns to action on Friday in Bay City. — B.P.
