Cavs’ boys, girls place 13th at regionals

BAY CITY – Carman-Ainsworth’s boys’ and girls’ teams finished Saturday’s regional at Delta College in 13th place overall with the boys tallying 406 and the girls 401. The top three teams and top 15 individuals move on to Saturday’s state meet at Michigan International Speedway.

Mikaiah Holbrook set the pace for the girls in 77th in 24:37.90, Rayven Brantley was 79th in 24:53.37, Mikayla Holbrook was 80th in 25:06.70 and Niajah Hood was 82nd in 25:09.55. Bailey Curtis was 83rd in 25:10.75, Arianna Vantine was 89th in 27:05.85 and Chante Boyd was 90th in 27:28.12.

Leading the boys was Joe Chinkeefatt in 68th in 18:57.87, Wyatt Pangerl was 80th in 19:55.74, Colin Smith was 86th in 21:42.93, Andrew Stephens was 87th in 22:38.07, Juan Cunningham was 88th in 24:04.79 and Juwan Willis was 89th in 25:21.66. – B.P.
