Cavs’ Carter headed to state finals in cross country

SAGINAW – Although Carman- Ainsworth was unable to qualify as a team, Jack Carter did qualify as an individual in fifth place in 16:20.69 at last Saturday’s regional at Delta College. The boys’ team was 13th with 305 and the girls 14th with 457. Only the top three teams and top 15 individuals move on to the state meet, which takes place Saturday, Nov. 2 at Michigan International Speedway.

Jack Roy took 51st in 17:53.87, Kielin Thompson placed 70th in 18:19.35 and Dalero McNeal 87th in 19:06.00. Caleb Rodgers was 92nd in 21:05.26, Ian Wickham claimed 93rd in 21:06.23 and Alex Wickham 94th in 22:00.63.

Leading the Lady Cavs was Priscilla Bradford-Walker in 83rd in 24:56.39, Emma Thorpe was 92nd in 27:28.94 and Rachel Allen 93rd in 28:14.68. Hannah Kirby wound up in 94th in 29:18.47 and in 95th was Leah Allen in 41:31.26. – B.P.
