Cavs’ Doty headed to state finals

FLINT – Carman-Ainsworth’s Molly Doty will compete in this weekend’s state finals after cracking the final qualifying spot in 10th place with an 1,138 at last Friday and Saturday’s regionals at Richfield Bowl in Flint.

As a team, the Cavaliers were unable to make the cut, placing seventh with 3,436, while the boys were ninth with 3,740.

Angelique Pointer placed 30th for the girls with 1,030, Sarah Roe shot a 949 for 50th and Izabella Thoune 61st with 878. Jacquelyn Davis placed 64th with 868 and Victoria Roe 66th with 831.

For the boys, Joeseph Wheeler fell just a few spots short of qualifying, placing 14th with 1,225. Masen Ancira was 37th with 1,089, Zachary Rhodes 58th with 1,033 and Tyson Berry 69th with 956. In 75th was Tayvon McGowan with 927

Doty will take part in the Div. 1 state finals at Tunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park on Friday and Saturday. – B.P.
