Cavs shut out in district soccer opener

GRAND BLANC — The field has been pared down in the loaded Div. 1, 12 Grand Blanc-hosted soccer district with Davison, 5-0-1 Big Nine, 9-3-4 overall, defeating Oxford, 2-1, in its opener at Davison on Monday.

Carman-Ainsworth was shut out, 8-0, by Clarkston, while Grand Blanc ranked No. 9 in Div. 1 at 10-0 KLAA-West, 13-3 overall, defeated Flushing, 4-0.

Grand Blanc played Lake Orion yesterday in the semis and Davison faced Clarkston. Finals are at Grand Blanc Friday at 4 p.m.

The Cavs finished the season at 0-13-0. — L.P.
