Cavs take care of Creek; Beecher looms

FLINT TWP. – The Carman-Ainsworth boys’ basketball team dominated Swartz Creek 87-56 last Friday. The Cavaliers’ offense was scorching, scoring more than 85 points for the second straight contest.

Carman-Ainsworth took a 46-15 lead by halftime. That proved to be the difference as each team posted 41 points in the second half.

Donnal Conway led the Cavs with 15 points, two rebounds and an assist. Darrell Scroggins added 11 points, while Michael Fletcher chipped in with 10 points, two rebounds and an assist. Jayden Nunn, Mehki Ellison and Isaiah Jones added eight points apiece.

Carman-Ainsworth, 6-1, takes on perennial powerhouse Flint Beecher, 8-0, tonight at 7:40 p.m. at Mott Community College in the inaugural Steve Schmidt Roundball Classic.
