Cavs tennis ousted from regionals



SAGINAW— The Carman-Ainsworth boys’ tennis season came to an end on Thursday, as the Cavaliers tied with Davison for last place at the Saginaw Heritage regional, totaling zero points.

Darrius Jones would suffer a defeat at the No. 1 Singles spot, losing to Grand Blanc, 3-6, 0-6. Cameron Simmington would have the same luck against Grand Blanc at No. 2 Singles, losing, 1-6, 0-6. At No. 3 Singles, Matt Nagy took a loss to Traverse City West, 4-6, 2-6 and Jeff Wilhelm would take the loss at No. 4 Singles, falling to Holt, 1-6, 0-6.

At the No. 1 Doubles slot, Noah Reed/Erick Van Duyne lost to Holt, 1-6, 0-6. Tyler Fields/Omeed Hekmati would take the loss at No. 2 Doubles, 0-6, 0-6, to Traverse City West. No. 3 Doubles also fell for the Cavs, as Chris Crowder/Mark D’Angelo fell to Traverse City West, 0-6, 1- 6. The Cavaliers’ season would be capped off with a loss at No. 4 Doubles with Riley Simmington/Jarron McAllister losing to Holt, 1-6, 2-6.
