GAINES TOWNSHIP — The Township of Gaines will hold a Community Development public needs hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the start of the Board of Trustees meeting.
Due to the new state Health Department emergency orders on public gatherings, the meeting will take place virtually. Details of how to access the meeting will be available on the township’s website, gainestownship.net.
The purpose of the hearing is to offer an opportunity for citizens to express their ideas on community needs and project proposals concerning the use of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the 2022- 24 program years.
Gaines Township expects to receive approximately $44,228. The funds are distributed through the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission from an annual entitlement from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The funds are intended primarily for projects in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. — L.R.
