Christmas on Main Street

DAVISON — The Davison Downtown Development Authority will hold its annual “Christmas on Main Street” in downtown Davison on Dec. 6 at 5 p.m.

There will be carolers, hot cocoa, a Parade of Lights, the lighting of the Christmas Tree and the arrival of Santa Claus. — G.G.

The Magic of Christmas

DAVISON — Hosted by Mike Millinkov, the Magic of Christmas will be held at Davison High School’s Auditorium, 1205 Clark St., on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 9 p.m.

Village Downtown Christmas

GOODRICH — Goodrich’s annual Downtown Christmas celebration will be held Thursday. Dec. 5, 5 to 9 p.m. Join friends and family for this fun event featuring Santa’s arrival at 5:30 in Liberty Way Realty for pictures, 6 p.m. tree lighting and caroling. New this year starting at 7:30 p.m., an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest will be judged! Also features craft and vendor booths, kids crafts upstairs in the library, wagon rides, and a scavenger hunt. The Goodrich Atlas Chamber of Commerce and middle school football team will be collecting winter clothing for the benefit of Whaley Children’s Center. City tree lighting and ice rink grand opening

GRAND BLANC — The city will hold their 3rd Annual Festival of Lights Dec. 6, starting at 4 p.m. in the Grand Chalet Shoppes where they will have Santa available for visits with the kids. At 5 p.m. they will hold a grand opening of the ice rink just down Grand Blvd. in Physicians Park followed by a candle lit walk at 5:30 to the official tree lighting back at the shops. Grand Chalet Shoppes are currently on seasonal (holiday) hours which are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. (until Dec 15). — P.S.

Breakfast with Santa

GRAND BLANC TWP. — The Grand Blanc Optimist Club hosts Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Grand Blanc Township Hall. 5374 S. Saginaw Street. The event is free and open to the public. Santa Claus will listen to wish lists and pose for a picture. A continental breakfast is provided and children receive a photo and goody bag. Township Tree Lighting Event

GRAND BLANC TWP. — Grand Blanc Township and Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation announce the second annual tree lighting event Saturday, Dec. 7 from 5–8 p.m. at Creasey Bicentennial Park, 1505 E. Grand Blanc Road. Don’t miss the 2nd Annual Tree Lighting at the South Pavilion which will be merry and bright with hot drinks, cookies, and family activities like a sing along with the Grand Blanc Community School Choir and horse drawn wagon rides. Holiday Concert

Toy collection

GRAND BLANC — Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services will be participating in Operation Toy Soldier, a program to deliver new, unwrapped toys to U.S. military families. Owner Adam Martin is looking for businesses who would like to host a donation drop-off which will be held through Dec. 7.

On Dec. 7, Martins Grand Blanc location (8253 S. Saginaw) will host a special event featuring Santa from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. to collect the donations which can still be dropped off at the funeral home up to Dec. 15 during regular business hours. Christmas dinner theater

SWARTZ CREEK — The 8th annual “In Bethlehem Inn” dinner theater will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, and Friday, Dec. 13, and 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Swartz Creek. The halls of the church will be decorated to replicate the streets of Bethlehem. Guests will enjoy authentic Mediterranean cuisine – chicken and rice, hummus, fattoush salad, pita breead and baklava. As dinner draws to a close, a star will appear and guests will be directed to the enclosed pavilion where they will witness a living nativity with live animals. Parade, tree lighting

SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek Area Firefighters will present the 35th annual Santa Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in downtown Swartz Creek. Warming tent opens at 5 p.m. at the corner of Miller Road and Holland Drive. S’mores, face painting, cookie decorating. Santa will magically light up the community Christmas tree as he makes his way along the parade route. — L.R.

Upcoming holiday concerts

GENESEE COUNTY — The Flint Citadel Band of the Salvation Army and the Flint Citadel Songster Brigade will be hosting a holiday concert on Dec. 8 at the Salvation Army Flint Citadel Corps Community Center on 211 W. Kearsley St. in Flint. Admission is free. The concert starts at 6 p.m.

On Dec. 9, The Genesee Wind Symphony will be hosting a concert at 7:30 p.m. from the Swartz Creek Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is $6. The Swartz Creek Center for the Performing Arts is located on 1 Dragon Drive near Miller Rd. and Fairchild St. in Swartz Creek.

On Dec. 10, the Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble will present a holiday program entitled “Jingle All The Way” from the Central Church of the Nazarene in Flint. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Central Church of the Nazarene is located on 1261 W. Bristol Rd. in Flint. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. — B.G.
