Clerk details how to file online for political candidates

GENESEE COUNTY — Genesee County Clerk John J. Gleason recently held a press conference to discuss how candidates can file to appear on the August ballot.

Due to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order, the Circuit Court House and Genesee County Clerk’s office is closed to the public and no in-person transactions/ applications are being accepted.

The following election related essential services are available to the public through remote access:

• Candidates wishing to file an Affidavit of Identity may mail in the notarized form along with either the filing fee or petitions.

• Newly formed Campaign Committees MUST file their first/original Statement of Organization (Campaign Finance) by mail.
