Clerk offers information for absentee voters for May 4 election


Do I qualify to vote by absentee ballot?

Any registered voter in Davison Township may request an absentee ballot.

Do I have to request an absentee ballot for each election?

Yes, but only if you are NOT on the permanent absent voter list and wish to vote absentee

Can I be added to the permanent absentee voter list?

Yes, if you wish to be added to our permanent absent voter list, you may call the Clerk’s

Department or send written notice to make your request.

What is the permanent absentee voter list?

If you are on this list, then for every election held in Davison Township the Clerk’s

Department will automatically mail you the APPLICATION. If you wish to vote in that election you will need to fill out the application and return it to the Clerk’s Department either by mail, email, or dropping it off at the Township Offices. (REMINDER: this application is mailed for EACH election and needs to completed for EACH election in order to receive your ballot).

Deadline to apply for application:

To receive a ballot by mail the application needs to be returned to the Clerk’s Department by 5 p.m. the FRIDAY prior to the election either by mail, email or in person. If you wish to turn in your application in person and receive your ballot at that time the deadline in

4 p.m. the MONDAY prior to the election. Waiting until the Monday prior to the election to pick up your ballot you MUST fill out the ballot in the office and return it to the Clerk’s Department when finished.

Receiving your ballot:

Once a completed application is received, the ballot will be mailed to you. If applying to vote absentee in person, you may receive and vote the ballot while at the Clerk’s Department once the ballots are available.
