Locals earns spots on SVSU`’s Deans’ List

UNIVERSITY CENTER — Almost 1,900 students from Saginaw Valley State University earned a spot on the Fall 2020 semester Deans’ List.

Juliana Dunning, of Grand Blanc, and Shelbe Cahill, of Davison, were among those honored for academic excellence.

To be eligible for the Deans’ List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.

Grand Blanc student receives degree from New York Institute of Technology

OLD WESTBURY, NY — Chenyue Zhang of Grand Blanc was one of more than 560 students who received degrees as fall graduates of the New York Institute of Technology Class of 2020. Zhang completed New York Tech’s Computer Science, MS program.

New York Institute of Technology offers 90 undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs in more than 50 fields of study, including computer science, data, and cybersecurity; biology and biomedical studies; architecture and design; engineering; health professions and medicine; IT and digital technologies; management; communications and marketing; education and counseling; and energy and sustainability. — G.G.

Viterbo University announces fall semester dean’s list

LA CROSSE, WI — Seven hundred seventy students have been named to the Viterbo University 2020 fall semester dean’s list.

Madison Zloto of Grand Blanc was one of the students named to the dean’s list.

Full-time students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit for letter grades and receive at least a 3.50 GPA with no incomplete grades to qualify for the dean’s list.

Viterbo is a liberal arts university located in La Crosse, Wis. Viterbo was founded in 1890 by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. — G.G.

Local residents earn degree from WGU

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — The following Davison residents have earned a degree from Western Governors University (WGU). The online, nonprofit university has graduated more than 218,000 students from across the country since its inception in 1997.

Jessica Hines received a Bachelor of Science, Nursing; Kaitlyn Crane received a Master of Education, Learning and Technology; Kyle Roy received a Bachelor of Science, Software Development; Michelle Poole received a Bachelor of Science, Nursing; Peter Rowland received a Master of Science, Management and Leadership; and Thomas Kellaway received a Bachelor of Science, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.

WGU has recognized 14,146 undergraduate and 15,640 graduate degree recipients, who have completed their degrees since July 2. — G.G.

Flushing native earns spot on SVSU’s President’s List

UNIVERSITY CENTER — There were more than 600 students from Saginaw Valley State University whose determination and commitment to academic excellence earned them a spot on the Fall 2020 semester President’s List.

Erika Whitcomb, of Flushing, was among the students recognized for their academic excellence.

To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 grade point average.

Olivet College December 2020 Graduates

OLIVET — Olivet College is pleased to announce the December 2020 graduates. Forty-six students completed their programs, including undergraduate students and graduates of the Master of Business Administration program.

Master of Business Administration in Insurance graduates include Ashley Jenkins of Davison.

Ariel Cuthpert awarded degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic

DAVENPORT, IA — Ariel Cuthpert of Grand Blanc, graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida campus in Port Orange, Fla., on Dec. 18.

Palmer College of Chiropractic, the first and largest college in the chiropractic profession, has campuses in Davenport, Iowa; San Jose, Calif.; and Port Orange, Fla. — G.G.
