Ferris State University announces Spring 2021 graduates

BIG RAPIDS — One thousand seven hundred and sixty students completed the requirements for certificates, associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at Ferris State University and Kendall College of Art and Design during the semester that ended in May 2021.

Local student named to Marquette University’s spring 2021 Dean’s List

MILWAUKEE, WIS. — Local students have been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2021 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Cal Smeets of Grand Blanc made the dean’s list. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomechanics.

To make the Dean’s List, students must have earned at least 12 credits for the spring 2021 semester and have no disqualifying grades. The GPA threshold varies by college – for the College of Education and the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, undergraduate students must have at least a 3.7 to be named to the Dean’s List.

The undergraduate GPA requirement is 3.5 for the following colleges: the Diederich College of Communication, the College of Business Administration, the College of Health Sciences, the Opus College of Engineering and the College of Nursing. All other programs have a 3.75 GPA minimum.

Winter 2021 Dean’s List announced

ALMA — Alma College has released the Dean’s List for those students who achieved outstanding academic performance during the 2021 Winter Term. Students who achieve a 3.5 or better grade point average during a term, while carrying a minimum of 13 credits, at least eight of which are evaluative grades, are named to the Dean’s List.

Those students from this area named to the Dean’s List include: Cameron Goldie and Parker Macco, both of Grand Blanc; Landen Moore, of Flushing; Lily Brown and Marleigh Matthews, both of Davison; and Hannah Swanson of Burton.

Alma College, founded in 1886, is a four-year residential liberal arts college located in the heart of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. A deep regard for students as individuals is fundamental to an Alma education, with small classes and many opportunities for one-on-one collaboration with dedicated faculty.

Freed-Hardeman University Announces President’s, Dean’s Lists

HENDERSON, TN — Freed-Hardeman University has released the names of students who made the President’s and Dean’s Lists for the 2021 spring semester.

To be on the President’s List, a student must be full-time and have a 4.0 grade point average. Students on the Dean’s List have earned a minimum 3.4 grade point average for the semester.

FHU congratulates the following students honored during the spring 2021 semester:

Ana Holland, of Swartz Creek, who is earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, was named to the President’s List.

Jewell July, of Rankin, who is earning a Bachelor of Arts in English, was named to the President’s List.

Shaelyn Maguffee, of Flint, who is earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music, was named to the President’s List.

Keegan Maguffee, of Flint, who is earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, was named to the Dean’s List,

Jacob July, of Davison, Michigan, was named to the President’s List. July is earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Witucki named to UA Deans List

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Brogen Witucki was named to The University of Alabama Deans List for Spring Semester 2021.

A total of 11,813 students enrolled during the spring 2021 term at The University of Alabama made the Dean’s List with academic records of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale), or the President’s List with academic records of 4.0 (all A’s).

The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load. — Compiled by Gary Gould
