SVSU names President’s List students for winter 2020
UNIVERSITY CENTER — There were more than 600 students from Saginaw Valley State University whose determination and commitment to academic excellence earned them a spot on the winter 2020 semester President’s List.
To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 grade point average.
The following local students were among the students recognized for their academic excellence: Joshua Arnes, Shelbe Cahill and Sydney Reinhardt, all of Davison.

SVSU names Deans’ List students for winter 2020 semester
UNIVERSITY CENTER — More than 1,800 students from Saginaw Valley State University earned a spot on the winter 2020 semester Deans’ List.
To be eligible for the Deans’ List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.
The following local students were among those honored for academic excellence: Elizabeth Crandall, Kourtney Fuller, Ashley Green, Haley Hopkinson, Mariah Mata, Maxwell McCombs, Ryan Pratt, Mallori Russell, Sarah Shaffer, Lindsay Smith, Payton Steinhaus, Chloe Velez and Maria Vukaj, all of Davison.
Spring 2020 Dean’s Honor List
CEDARVILLE, OH — Cedarville University recently released the spring 2020 Dean’s Honor List. This recognition required students to maintain a 3.75 GPA for the semester while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.
The following students were named to the Dean’s list: Joseph Nealis, Jesse Oliver, Miranda Strobl and Matthew Strobl, all of Davison

Area Residents Graduate from Mercer University
MACON/ATLANTA, GA. — Mercer University conferred bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees to more than 2,200 students representing 12 schools and colleges during the 2019- 2020 academic year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mercer’s four ceremonies were held virtually or rescheduled for later in the summer. The School of Medicine held a virtual commencement on May 2; the School of Law commencement will be held Aug. 7 in Macon; the Macon commencement will be held Aug. 8 in Hawkins Arena; and the Atlanta commencement will be held Aug. 9 at the Infinite Energy Center.
