FLINT TWP. — As part of Comcast’s multi-million-dollar nationwide commitment to improve customer service, the company opened a new XFINITY retail store in Flint Township on Monday, January 16 at G3567 Miller Road in the Genesee Crossing shopping center.
“We are on a mission to reinvent how we interact with our customers and deliver an exceptional experience in every way,” said Rob Ponto, Comcast senior manager, public relations, in a press release.
“In Flint Township, we’re taking grand steps to make it easier for customers to do business with us. Unlike most cable service centers where people are used to waiting in long lines to return or pick up equipment, this new 5,000 square-foot store serves another purpose. It’s designed to get customers more comfortable with the technology in their home.”
The store provides customers with an opportunity to explore, learn about and interact directly with the latest XFINITY services. It features flat screen HD TVs and a comfortable seating area so visitors can settle in and experience the company’s X1 entertainment operating system as though they’re in their own homes.
Through hands-on demonstrations, customers can learn about other XFINITY products, including high-speed Internet and voice and connected home solutions. The store also features an iPad bar for visitors to trial XFINITY’s mobile apps that let customers watch live TV, stream On Demand content, download movies and TV shows, and manage and monitor their homes while on the go.
“The technology in our homes is much more complex than ever before,” explained Tim Collins, Comcast’s Heartland Region senior vice president. “We design our new stores to make it easy for customers to learn in an engaging, hands-on way about the many capabilities of the products and services we offer that they rely on every day.”
Along with product and service demos, customers can pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable sales consultants. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The new store will also sell a variety of products and accessories, offering more convenience to Comcast customers. These will include the latest consumer electronic accessories like Bluetooth speakers, stereo headsets, portable power banks, chargers, HDMI cables and more. The store will also sell equipment such as door locks that are compatible with XFINITY Home smart home and security offerings.
“During the water crisis, Comcast employees were among the first to step up and help by delivering water filters to our residents,” Michigan Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich said. “I’m pleased that the company is investing in Flint with a new brick and mortar store to serve our community. It’s another example of Comcast’s commitment to our city.”
