FLINT TWP. — The 18th Annual Carman- Ainsworth All District Band & Orchestra Concert will be striking up at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 2 in the High School Gymnasium.
As in years past, all C-A teachers, administrators, support staff, parents and alumni are being invited to participate in the “Mass Band” selections that are played at the end of the concert. Seeing adults playing and enjoying music along with them is good for students, concert organizers said.
For anyone feeling nervous about playing after many years, there’s an opportunity to practice beforehand. Band organizers are available to help with practice on fingerings, slide positions, etc. and also have supplies (such as reeds and valve oil) on hand in the band rooms. Anyone needing to borrow an instrument, should also contact them immediately.
Anyone interested in participating is asked to RSVP by Friday, April 15, so that enough chairs can be set up for the concert and names can be added to the program. Organizers also need participants to indicate their preferred performing group (grade level).
