Spring is here and it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy your Genesee County Parks as we are gearing up to help you plan the ultimate vacation right here in your own back yard!
We have so much here to offer and would love to have you come out and visit the more than fifty different locations throughout the park system. You can enjoy a quiet paddle along the Flint River, at Mott Lake or Holloway Reservoir. Fishing is great at all of our fishing sites. Check out Buell Lake, or Flint Park Lake Park for a quiet spot to reel them in. Reserve your spot at Wolverine Campground this April 29 through October 24 for one of the best kept secrets in the county! Awesome camping and Buttercup beach is right next door!
The trails are calling! With our newly extended section of the Iron Belle Trail in Richfield County Park, the perfect walk or bike ride with your family is just around the corner! Genesee County parks boasts miles and miles of trails for hiking, biking, walking and paddling throughout the county. Invite your friends along for the perfect socially distanced get together.
For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum’s staff has a full summer planned with both in person and virtual programming for all ages. Our annual Family Fun Guide will be out soon and in a print friendly digital for, with a few extras! We cannot wait for you to see all there is to plan and do this summers!
The Mounds ORV Area is celebrating 50 years of offering good ole’ dirty fun year-round. If you love going off road, we’ve got one of the greatest playgrounds you’ll ever find. That’s why all kinds of ORVers bring all kinds of ORVs – from Jeeps and trucks to quads and cycles to the Mounds. If you have never been, it is time to plan a visit.
Last year put a huge damper on family’s annual traditions and outings. This year, we invite you to make up for lost time and join us at Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad for a summer full of themed weekend activities, festivals, and fun! The Village and staff are just about to burst with excitement for the 2021 Summer season! We are inviting all Genesee County residents out for a free Village Admission day on Saturday, June 5 while we celebrate Genesee County Day and Village Fest. July brings great family fun with a Music Festival and Science Day. Then, August brings us the ultimate train enthusiasts dream with Railfans Weekend and the return of the Day Out With Thomas!
