FLUSHING — Live music and applauding crowds will once again grace Riverview Park this summer with the return of Flushing Area Concerts in the Park.
Concerts in the Park, one of Flushing’s most-loved annual traditions, will take the stage at the Riverview Park Bandshell every Wednesday night starting next week. Eight performances have been lined up this year, including several returning musical groups and a few new acts to Concerts in the Park.
“We’re going to give it the old college try for our 33rd season,” said Pam Clough, Chairperson for Flushing Area Concerts in the Park. “Kickoff is June 16 with Rodeo Drive and concerts extend until the Aug. 4 performance of Pub Runners and the Irish dancers. The committee hopes to see you at Riverview Park ready to hear some great musical groups.”
Concessions will be provided each concert night at the Teen Canteen by the Thomas Smith Memorial Foundation. Rain sites for the concerts are still to be determined. To see updates, visit the Flushing Area Concerts in the Park, Official Site Facebook page.
Concerts in the Park is also in critical need of volunteers for the concerts and for its committee. To volunteer, contact Don Clough at 810-577-6139.
