Consumers Energy uses vacant theater as headquarters



ENCORE — For the second year in a row, Consumers Energy is using the parking lot at the vacant Cinema 10 theater, 4425 Lennon Rd. as a temporary construction storage site The township Planning Commission review committee approved a temporary use permit for the site to be used from Feb. 1 through Aug. 1 of this year. Visible from the back entrance to Genesee Valley Center on Dutcher Street, the equipment approved for storage includes 28 to 30 company vehicles, two dumpsters, one office pod, two port-a-johns, construction equipment, and piles of soils, spoils, or aggregates. Permission to use the site also includes terms that it must be returned to the condition existing as of Jan. 24.
