Consumers to cut power for 6 hours in parts of Grand Blanc, Mundy townships

GRAND BLANC TWP. –— Consumers Energy will reroute electric transmission lines in parts of southern Genesee County, resulting in a temporary power outage for more than 4,500 customers in Grand Blanc and Mundy townships.

The service interruption is expected to begin at midnight Saturday, Oct. 3, and continue for about six hours.

The work will help ensure delivery of safe, reliable energy to customers, a power company spokesperson said.

Customers who will be affected by the outage have been notified by postcard.

The outage will include the following areas:

• Grand Blanc Road between Dort Highway and Jennings Road;

• Fenton Road from Reid Road to just south of Baldwin Road;

• Cook Road from Linden Road to Fenton Road;

• Torrey Road from Baldwin Road to just south of Reid Road.

In the event that the work cannot commence at the scheduled time, a backup time of midnight Sunday, Oct. 4, is planned.
