GENESEE COUNTY — Fall is the the perfect time to enjoy a family walk through a corn maze.
Country Corn Maze of Corunna, Michigan has four unique corn mazes for families of all ages to trek through.
Brian Martindale and his family have been hosting this event at his farm for 13 years. He teamed up with the company Maze Play to get unique designs for the four mazes.
This year’s theme is “Farm Guy”, it is also the name of one of four mazes. The other maze names are Patty the Cow, Barn and Silo and Farm Tracks.
“It’s (walking through the corn maze) good exercise and it’s challenging with 8.3 miles of paths,” said Martindale. “ There are checkpoint places to help people navigate.”
A scavenger hunt event is also available to corn maze walkers. Martindale said the event resembles the game of Clue.
Opening day for the maze was Sept. 5 and is open until Nov. 3.
Thursdays and Fridays the maze opens at 6 p.m. and closes at 10 a.m. Saturdays are from 1 p.m-10 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m-8p.m.
“You can go to a movie all year long but mazes are only here in the fall. It’s a great group activity,” said Martindale.
A corn cannon, pumpkin patch, apple cider and donuts are available.
