BURTON — The city council authorized the city administration to execute a contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for preliminarily engineering activities for roadway rehabilitation work along Belsay Road, June 21.
Council authorized Mayor Duane Haskins and City Clerk Racheal Boggs to enter into a contract on behalf of the city with MDOT for the planned rehabilitation of Belsay Road from Davison Road to Potter Road; and all together with necessary related work.
The estimated total cost of the project is $37,500, of which the City of Burton’s final cost will be approximately $8,025.00, said city officials. The rest of the funding will come from the state of Michigan.
The council also approved authorizing Amber Abbey, street administrator and deputy DPW director, to digitally sign said contract on behalf of the City of Burton.
The council’s decision was unanimous.
Also at the June 21 meeting, the council unanimously approved and authorized the acceptance of the proposal in the amount of $14,110 and allow Haskins and Boggs to enter into a contract with Nelson Tank Engineering & Consulting, Inc. 16240 National Parkway, Lansing, for Water Tower Engineering Services for Painting Rehabilitation. — G.G.
