GRAND BLANC — Dan and Kerrie Hajek own and operate Santa’s Farm in Grand Blanc. The couple has 10 acres at 7097 Vassar Rd. in and for the second year they are doing a “Visit and Pictures with Santa at the Farm.”
Kerrie said this is something really unique to the area and the couple hopes it will create wonderful memories for children and families for years to come. She said the idea of the couple taking on the roles of Santa and Mrs. Claus began last year when their daughter remarked on how exhausting it was at the holidays to try and fit everything in at Christmas.
So the couple created Santa’s Farm where families could book a visit and bring their children to meet Santa Claus and have holiday photos taken.
“After they visit here we can recommend a local restaurant to eat at,” said Kerrie. “They can make a day of it.”
Dan has a “John Deere” green and yellow grain bin which has been converted into a cozy little den where Santa will meet the families and they can visit and take pictures at their reserved time.
“What is so nice about this is you don’t have to deal with the crowds at the mall, waiting in lines, then having cranky children,” said Kerrie. “People will make their reservations, which are for 20 minutes, to spend their special time with Santa.”
After visiting in the grain bin, they will go to our big pole barn, which has “Santa’s Sleigh” and elves. There they can have hot chocolate, popcorn, play with old fashioned toys and take more pictures in his sleigh.
Santa’s Farm will be open Fridays from 5-8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. through Dec. 22.
