The Carman-Ainsworth cross country team didn’t lose many athletes, having to replace departed seniors Andrew Stephens for the boys and Chante Boyd for the girls.
Joe Chinkeefatt is back for his senior year, along with juniors Andre Williams, Keegan Maguffee, Ian Wickham, Juan Cunningham and Nathan Ratynski. Sophomores Dalero McNeal and Darwin Bostwick are also back.
For the girls, senior Rayven Brantley leads the way with juniors Mikaiah and Mikayla Holbrook. They’ll be joined by sophomores Priscilla Bradford-Walker, Ayianna Massey and Rachel Allen.
“The league will become a lot tougher with the addition of Grand Blanc,” said boys’ coach Kenn Domerese. “We still have long way to be contenders, working on getting guys to be every day runners. Leaving Monday for Cross country camp with 400 mid-Michigan runners. Clio, Flushing, Powers, Swartz Creek, CA, Lake Fenton and Lapeer will be some of the squads there.” – B.P.
