GENESEE COUNTY — Crossroads Village hosted Senior Power Day, May 22.
The event was sponsored by the Valley Area Agency on Aging. About 2,000-3,000 seniors attended the event for a $3 admission.
More than 40 vendors set up to assist senior citizens 60 and older. Vendors for assisted living and nursing homes were there to answer questions for seniors.
A lunch was provided for the seniors in one of the tents.
Burton resident Mary Guerriere said she attends the event every year. She is part of the Ragtime Kitchen Band that performs at Burton Senior Center.
She performed at 9 a.m. at the event.
Councilwoman Ellen Ellenburg has attended the event since she has been on city council.
She said it is a great way to get to know Burton senior citizens. Bingo, gospel music, a magician and a train ride were part of the festivities.
