Beer stolen from garage refrigerator

DAVISON TWP. — A police officer on routine patrol in the 9000 block Rayna Dr. on Aug. 28 at 12:55 a.m. stopped to check on an open garage door. Upon investigation the office found that someone had gotten into a refrigerator in the garage and took approximately 20 beers, according to the homeowner who said they left the door open for a relative to gain access to the home later that night.

Police have no suspects.

Truck driving erratically with no lights prompts traffic stop

DAVISON TWP. — While on patrol an officer observed red Ford pickup truck driving with no lights, speeding between 15-20 mph over the 35-mph speed limit on Aug. 28 at 11:05 p.m.

The officer reported the driver, a 43-year-old Flint man, was unable to maintain lanes, besides exceeding the speed limit in the 9100 block of Davison Road headed eastbound toward M-15 when he enacted a traffic stop.

The subject failed sobriety tests and a portable breathalyzer test which showed a blood alcohol content of .221. The man consented to a voluntary blood draw and the case remains open pending blood test results.

Couple leaves VGs with cart load of food items

DAVISON TWP. — On Aug. 31 at 8:46 p.m. there was a report of a retail fraud at VGs Grocery, 8503 Davison Rd., involving two suspects – a male and female – who loaded $89 worth of consumable goods into their car without paying for it and drove off.

The case is open pending investigation

Woman injured in car crash

DAVISON TWP. — Two car collided at the intersection of State Road and Lapeer Road on Sept. 1 at 9:36 p.m.

A 36-year-old Detroit woman received minor injuries when she collided with a car driven by a 16-year-old Davison Township boy who allegedly pulled out in front of her, causing the crash.

There were no other injuries.

Joyriding youth crashes truck in ditch

DAVISON TWP. — Police observed two trucks attempting to pull into the parking lot of The River Church, 2361 N. Irish Rd., on Sept. 1 at 11:51 p.m. when one of the two vehicles crashed into the ditch.

Upon investigation, police learned the truck was driven by an unlicensed 14-year-old Davison boy who advised the officer he did not have a drivers license and was out “being stupid.”

Police said the boy’s parents didn’t know he took the car. The parents were called, and M-15 Towing removed the truck from the ditch.

The youth was issued a citation for not having a license (never applied for) and the case was turned over to probate court.

Man sought in strong arm robbery at Menards

DAVISON TWP. — Police are looking for a man in his 40s wearing a paper mask who allegedly stole two rotary lasers, valued together at $958, on Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. Police said when loss prevention officers at the store tried to stop him from walking out the door with the unpaid merchandise, he pointed pepper spray at them, but did not deploy it.
