Tennessee man arrested for traffic violation

DAVISON TWP. — A 50-year-old Madison, TN man was arrested for driving on a suspended license June 24.

Police stopped the man at 4:45 p.m. who was driving on I-69 near the Lapeer Road overpass for a traffic violation. During a check of the man’s identification, police learned he was driving on a suspended license.

He was cited for the violation and was released.

Traffic stop leads to controlled substance arrest

DAVISON TWP. — A couple from Poplar Bluff, MO were stopped for erratic driving June 24 and a search of their vehicle turned up a controlled substance.

Police stopped the westbound vehicle on I-69 at Irish Road after the officer observed the car driving erratically at 6:15 p.m. During a search of the car the officer discovered pills which neither occupant had a prescription for.

The couple, a 25-year-old woman and 35-year-old man, both from poplar Bluff, MO, were arrested.

Woman reports phone stolen

DAVISON TWP. — A 25-year-old Davison Township woman told police she was involved in an altercation with two people, one a friend, at her Charter Oaks Apartment and one of the two assailants took off with her cellphone, June 27.

The suspects left with the phone before police arrived at about 9:09 p.m. The suspects, a man and a woman, are both from Detroit and police have been unable to contact either individual.

Loaned car not returned to owner

DAVISON TWP. — Police responded to Lions Gate Apartments on Irish Road June 28 at 1:04 a.m. where a 29-year-old Davison Township man reported the theft of his mother’s car.

While investigating the report, police learned the man loaned his mother’s 2010 Chevrolet Impala to an acquaintance who asked to borrow a vehicle.

The man did not loan the individual his own car but offered his 55-year-old mother’s car instead. As soon as the suspect drove off in the car, the victim said the suspect turned off his cellphone and deactivated his Facebook account.

Police have no leads. The suspect was only known to the victim by a nickname.

Food stop for traveler ends with car break-in

DAVISON TWP. — A 40-year-old Burlington KY woman stopped June 29 at Culver’s, 7500 E. Court St., and went inside to dine and returned to a smashed window on her car. While inside, someone broke the window at around 12:30 p.m. and stole money and an iPad.

There are no suspects.

Erratic driving ends in drunk driving arrest

DAVISON TWP. — A 29-year-old Burton man was arrested July 2 after he was stopped by police and found to be drinking and driving.

Police stopped the man at 1:14 a.m. when police observed him driving erratically, and with a taillight out, as he turned from westbound Davison Road to southbound Irish Road at a high rate of speed. He was clocked driving at 65-mph in a 45-mph zone.

After he was stopped the man was administered sobriety tests, which he failed, then he took a portable breathalyzer test, which he also failed with a blood alcohol reading of .17. The man was then arrested and lodged in the Genesee County Jail. — Compiled by Gary Gould
