Davison Township elections run with “integrity and honesty”

I am writing in response to some of the comments made by Mary Miller who is running for Davison Township Clerk.

After reading her comments I felt compelled to write.

Her comments stated that “efficiency can be improved and with improvement lower cost should follow and with lower cost lower taxes should follow.” Taxes aren’t related to the efficiency of the clerk’s office. The twenty extra-voted millages passed by the residents of Genesee County has more to do with higher tax bills than the millage rate of Davison Township.

Having worked elections for the past 20-plus years, I can assure you that the elections have been run with integrity and honesty. There has been extensive training to ensure that election officials are properly trained to run and work the elections.

Furthermore, the township has nothing to do with vital records, that is handled by the county.

It would be interesting to know how many board meetings Mrs. Miller has attended to know the actual working of the office. — Connie Olejniczak, Davison
