DDA to help pay for road repairs

FLINT TOWNSHIP — The Flint Township Downtown Development Authority has committed more than $750,000 for road projects.

The DDA’s contribution will cover about 19.7 percent of the cost to repair an estimated 3.41 miles of roadways in various parts of the township.

Projects within the DDA parameters include Austin Parkway, Lincor Parkway, Taft Road, TA Mansour Boulevard, Commerce Road, Exchange Drive, Nerredia Street and Marketplace Drive.

The Bristol Road Corridor Improvement Authority earlier committed more than $180,000 toward the reconstruction of Holiday Drive.

Township officials continue to look for other sources of funding, including grants and special assessment districts, for the $3.8 million worth of projects.

The scope of the work also includes a portion of Linden Creek Parkway.
