Dinner Party at MCC featuring “Chef to the Stars” set for Feb. 25



FLINT — Flint area foodies are encouraged to make their reservations quickly for a dinner party featuring “New York’s Chef to the Stars,” Executive Chef Daniel Vater, at Mott Community College’s Applewood Café, set for Feb. 25.

A cocktail reception begins at 6:30 pm, with dinner following at 7 p.m. There are still seats available but tickets are going fast.

Chef Vater, a Flint native and Carman-Ainsworth High School graduate, is bringing a gourmet meal and celebrity secrets to share with the community when he cuts, chops and purees for a typical New York-style dinner party, using the tasty secrets he used when cooking for megacelebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Colin Powell and Donald Trump.

He also has prepared elaborate meals for the likes of Bette Midler, Barbara Walters and Martha Stewart. He will share details of those experiences as well at this unique fundraiser sponsored by the Foundation for Mott Community College.

Tickets to the event range from $100-$1,500, with top billing providing hands-on Sous-Chef preparation of the meal with Chef Vater.

We are encouraging anyone interested to make reservations in order to secure a spot at Applewood Café.”

Vater is the son to Event Chair and MCC Culinary Team Host, Rita Vater Darnton. He is a graduate of The University of Michigan. — G.G.
