FLINT TOWNSHIP – PAWS Animal Rescue will host the third annual PAWS Tails & Trails Dog Walk and Fun Fest from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Flint Township Park and Trails, 5200 Norko, between Linden and Dye roads.
All participants are welcome, including non-dog owners. The $10 fee per dog will include entry in the 1-mile paved dog walk path led by an official 4-legged grand marshal heading up the pack. Dogs must be licensed and current on vaccines.
To register, visit pawsanimalrescue.net and click on the Events tab to view and download registration, sponsorship and event details. Prizes will be awarded to the top three highest donations; contributions of $100 or more receive a free T-shirt while supplies last.
Other features will include contests, dunk tank and kids’ games, doggie kissing booth, doggie spa (massages and nail trims), pet product vendors, Snap That! Selfies photo booth, The Philzone – A Street Food Diner, ice cream cart, bake sale, and K-9 demonstration featuring Von Der King Kennels & Training whose services include dog training for military, police, executive protection, and high level sport.
All proceeds will support PAWS Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization that is passionately dedicated to saving abused, neglected and abandoned animals. PAWS’ Guiding Values are to: prevent animals going to kill shelters, research facilities, and animal control; increase adoptions of unwanted animals to a loving forever home; educate the public regarding the value of the animals in their lives; increase public awareness about the importance of spaying/neutering their pets; and, provide training and rehabilitation for the animals with adoption barriers.
