Dollar Tree stores launch Toy Drive



GENESEE COUNTY — Dollar Tree has once again joined forces with Operation Homefront for its annual Holiday Toy Drive to collect gifts for military kids.

This marks the ninth year that toys collected between Nov. 1 and Dec. 3 will be distributed to the children of service members this holiday season, according to a press release.

Anyone wishing to make this year’s holidays brighter for military families can go to their local Dollar Tree store and purchase toys for the distribution.

“Our military families do so much for all of us and our annual Holiday Toy Drive is just one way we honor and thank them by helping to make the holiday season special for their children,” said Operation Homefront President and CEO John I. Pray, Jr. “Your purchase supports the Holiday Toy Drive by helping us bring joy to our nation’s youngest patriots, while alleviating some of the pressure on tight budgets for their parents during the holidays. We’re incredibly grateful for the continuing generosity of Dollar Tree customers and their support of military families.”

In 2014, thanks in large measure to tremendous support from Dollar Tree patrons Operation Homefront’s Holiday Toy Drive collected 7.8 million toys nationwide for military kids.

Since its inception in 2002, Operation Homefront has provided assistance to thousands of military families and wounded warriors including emergency and other financial assistance. It is a non-profit that returns 92 percent of funding directly to programs supporting military families.
