FLINT TWP. — The Carman- Ainsworth Middle School family is rallying to help three students whose family lost everything they owned in a March 7 house fire.
The Middle School is accepting donations for Brooklyn Palmateer, 14, and twins Alexandria and Victoria, 11 and their parents Greg and Destanie Palmateer.
Checks should be made payable to “Carman- Ainsworth” with “Palmateer Family” in the notes section. Please send them to the attention of bookkeeper, Maria Shafer, at the Middle School, 1409 W. Maple Ave, Flint, MI 48507. Shafer can be reached at 810-591-6214 for more information.
The family also needs clothing in women’s sizes. Brooklyn wears size 5-7 pants, a size small shirt and 8 1/2 shoes.
Alexandria wears size 9-11 pants; medium to large shirts and 9 ½ shoes and Victoria wears size 10-11 pants, large shirt and size 9 shoe.
Donations can be dropped off at 3255 Berent Street in Burton.
Also, a GoFundMe account, not affiliated with CA schools, has been set up to help the family. About $1,315, towards a goal of $50,000 had been raised as of Tuesday, March 17. The account is set up online at www.gofundme.com/o8c3v4
Flint Township Police Chief John Ringwelski said that township firefighters assisted in fighting the blaze that destroyed the Palmateer’s Maple Road home.
