The township commercial district took a double hit from the March 15 announcement that Toys R Us, 3250 S Linden Rd. and Babies R Us, 3274 S. Linden Road are permanently closing. The two big box stores are located one door apart with high visibility, directly across the street from Genesee Valley Center shopping mall, which also will soon lose Burlington Coat Factory, one of its four anchor stores. Founded in 1948, Toys R Us is shutting down all of its U.S. stores. Building and window signs announced the start of liquidation sales on March 23. The company has ceased taking orders on its website and shut down the Baby Registry at Babies R Us. Layaway customers are being notified to pay the balance due in 21 days or forfeit their merchandise. More customer service information about gift cards, events, coupons, rewards and other store features are published on the company web site. www.toysrusinc.com/ customer-faq
