FLINT TWP.— The Class of 2019 has stepped into high school. Carman-Ainsworth Middle School held its’ annual eighth grade Celebration on Friday, May 29th at Carman-Ainsworth High School, attended by many friends and family.

This year, middle-school Principal, Kevin Summey opened the event, while students led the rest of the ceremony, according to Sandra Worthing, eighth grade history teacher.

Students designed a banner and T-shirt and shared the Top 10 reasons to love the Class of 2019. Each student was singled out for recognition.

The success of the celebration begins months in advance with meetings, donations, and planning, Worthing said.

An after-party followed the ceremony, when students were able to swim, play basketball, enjoy dinner, dance and socialize with their friends in the setting that will be their educational home for the next four years.

Middle-school organizers hope to continue hosting this celebration to honor eighth grade students as they embark on this new chapter in their lives, Worthing said.
