ELEANOR ALICE RIEGLE, 91, of Richfield Township, died Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Brookdale Assisted Living. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021, at Richfield Union Cemetery, Irish Rd. Davison, with Hospice Chaplain David Gerber officiating. Eleanor was born in Davison Township on July 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Albert Henry & Marion Blanche (Nye) Rhody and has resided in the Davison area her entire life. She was married to Melvin Riegle on October 7, 1950, and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1991.
Eleanor was a true lover of all animals. She loved feeding and watching her birds and attending to any stray cat or animal that would show up at her door. Eleanor was an active Avon Representative in the area for over fifty years until retiring in 2020.
She is survived by son, Terry Melvin and wife Karen Ann Riegle; granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Riegle and great-granddaughter, Maliah Riegle Valdez. She also leaves her sister, Barbara Devereaux, and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by brothers, Eugene Rhody, Fred Rhody, Howard Rhody and her sisters, Arlene Ingersoll and Irene Bice.
