ELGA awards five students scholarships

GENESEE COUNTY — ELGA Credit Union has announced it has awarded scholarships to five area students. Four Carmen Lee Wilber Scholarship Recipients each receiving $1,000 are:

Kelsey Bees — a graduate of Davison High School. Kelsey will be attending Michigan State University to pursue a dual major in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

Samantha Dunning – a graduate of Kearsley High School. Samantha will be attending Madonna University to pursue a dual major in Social Work and Education.

Katelyn Goff – a graduate of Flushing High School. Katelyn will be attending Central Michigan University to pursue a degree in the field of Biomedicine/ Biology.

Benjamin Ranger Jr. – a graduate of Clio High School will be attending Mott Community College to pursue a degree in Automotive Business

The ELGA “Giving Back” Community Scholarship was awarded to:

Miranda Eastwood – is the recipient of the first $1000 ELGA “Giving Back” Community Scholarship. Miranda is currently attending Mott Community College where her field of study is Dental Hygiene.

“These recipients were selected out of 31 deserving applicants. We know by their past accomplishments, they will be successful and great ambassadors of ELGA Credit Union in the future,” said Kathy Beard, ELGA Credit Union’s Financial Education Coordinator.

This was the sixth year ELGA has presented scholarships to students in the community. — G.G.
