GRAND BLANC TWP. — ELGA Credit Union has officially broken ground for the newest branch and headquarters located at 12700 Grand Pointe Blvd. in Grand Blanc Township.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place Friday, July 17.

“Grand Blanc has been the number-one requested location for more than 20 years,” said Karen Church, ELGA CEO. “After more than five years of searching, we found this beautiful property and knew that it would be the perfect location with convenient access to the highway.”

The property, which includes 11.5 acres, will be home to a 4,400-square-foot, full-service branch, as well as a 62,800-square-foot headquarters.

The branch will include four drive-through lanes with ATM or teller access.

“With more than 200 associates occupying the property, ELGA’s presence will make a positive economic impact on the local business community” said Terry Katzur, ELGA’s executive vice president. “Additionally, this full-service branch will allow us to serve our current members while offering our brand of financial services to people living and working in the area.”

The new ELGA Credit Union branch is projected to open in the first quarter of 2021, while the headquarters building is expected to be completed later in the year. — L.R.
